When I started Gloss, I really wanted to make something that attracted car aficionados like myself. We spent a lot of time creating a brand that I thought would resonate. We even tried to make our own cars & coffee (and we have a great coffee shop with our brand of organic beans!)
Well, while we were successful with creating a great brand and a much better car wash and detailing service for Boulder, our attempts at a gathering spot on Sunday mornings for car lovers was a bit of a failure. We hosted two or three events and had pretty dismal attendance. Our location and our efforts to spread the word were just not effective.
This weekend the weather was perfect and the unique cars were out in force. The slantnose 944 Turbo was my personal favorite - I still the 944t of my youth.
Gloss was present (we are a sponsor!) and we were stoked to connect with so many car lovers from Boulder. It was such a great event - it also highlights how difficult it is to 'make community'. Mike has been working hard on FuelFed for years, and every event gets a little better, word spreads a little more, and more people attend.
While the Boulder car community is not huge, it is dedicated and there are some really interesting cars. Plus, the scenery on west pearl has a Luft vide which is cool.
We look forward to the next FuelFed event and hopefully helping keep the Boulder car scene clean and shiny!
